Two Medicals Scheduled in 24 Hours as Manchester United Agree Third INEOS Signing

Manchester United is set to conclude a whirlwind weekend of transfer activity by finalizing three significant deals within 24 hours. The club’s latest moves signal an intense recruitment drive ahead of the Premier League opener against Fulham on Friday, with Erik ten Hag poised to strengthen his defensive line-up significantly.

The transfer frenzy began when Manchester United secured a £60 million double deal with Bayern Munich for defenders Noussair Mazraoui and Matthijs de Ligt.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, both players are scheduled to undergo medicals on Monday, setting the stage for them to sign five-year contracts with the option of an additional year.

De Ligt’s move to Old Trafford comes at a cost of £39 million, payable over three years, with an additional £4 million in performance-related add-ons. Meanwhile, Mazraoui’s transfer will see United part with £13 million upfront, supplemented by another £4 million in potential bonuses.

Speaking about the new additions, a source close to the club stated, “These signings are part of a broader strategy to build a resilient and versatile defense. Ten Hag has been keen on both players for a while, and their arrival will bring a fresh dynamic to the squad.”

As if these two high-profile transfers weren’t enough, Manchester United is also preparing to finalize a deal that will see Aaron Wan-Bissaka leave the club. The 26-year-old right-back is set to join West Ham United, with a medical scheduled for Sunday in London.

The Hammers have agreed on a £15 million fee for Wan-Bissaka, who is in the final year of his contract at United. The transfer includes a compensation package for the remaining ten months of his contract, ensuring a smooth transition for the player. West Ham manager David Moyes is reportedly keen on the English defender, believing that Wan-Bissaka’s pace and defensive solidity will be a perfect fit for his team’s style of play.

Manchester United’s recent transfer activity underscores INEOS’ commitment to reshaping the squad under Ten Hag’s guidance. The swift and strategic moves made over the weekend highlight the club’s ambition to challenge for top honors in the upcoming season.
