Tomas Rosicky, a candidate for the role of Arsenal’s sporting director, has confirmed that he is being considered by the club, although he hasn’t received an official offer yet.
After the departure of former sporting director Edu Gaspar this season, Arsenal has been searching for a suitable replacement. Numerous names have been suggested, including that of Sparta Prague’s director, Tomas Rosicky, who spent ten years at Arsenal during his playing career. Rosicky has now confirmed that he is on the club’s radar, but clarified that no offer has been extended to him.
“My connection with Arsenal is natural because I spent 10 years there, and when you spend 10 years somewhere, you form a strong, very strong bond,” Rosicky shared. “I am honoured by the fact that I am even being considered by Arsenal’s management, but I can say that I don’t have any offer to go to Arsenal.”
He continued, “As I mentioned before, I’m aware that I’m on their radar or I figure in their considerations in some capacity, but I haven’t received any offer.”
Despite the absence of an official offer, Rosicky’s name remains in the mix. According to David Ornstein’s report for The Athletic, Arsenal has not yet offered the position to anyone on their shortlist. The club is expected to make a decision soon and plans to finalize the appointment within the month.
The report also noted that Arsenal’s interim director, Jason Ayto, is among the candidates under consideration, along with Dan Ashworth, Andrea Berta, Roberto Olabe, Thiago Scuro, and several others. All these individuals have either been discussed internally or have had talks with the club.
Getting this position filled quickly would benefit Arsenal as they prepare for the upcoming summer transfer window. The sporting director will play a key role in shaping the club’s strategy during that period.
