Only One Man United player left a comment on Jadon Sancho’s Instagram post after the UCL heroics
Just one Manchester United player has responded to Jadon Sancho’s Instagram post celebrating Borussia Dortmund’s qualification for the Champions League final.
Borussia Dortmund pulled off one of the surprises of the season on Tuesday evening, defeating Paris Saint-Germain to advance to the final of the Champions League.
Having narrowly won the first leg of their semi-final in Germany last week, Dortmund secured a 1-0 win in Paris, sealing a 2-0 aggregate victory.
Reaching the final at Wembley is a significant achievement for a team currently sitting fifth in the Bundesliga table after a season marked by inconsistent performances.
It could be argued that Jadon Sancho’s recent achievement is even more remarkable considering the challenging situation he faced earlier in the season.
The 24-year-old winger made a £73 million move from Dortmund to Manchester United in 2021. However, after two inconsistent seasons, he found himself excluded from the first-team squad following a disagreement with manager Erik ten Hag.
Publicly criticizing Ten Hag after being left out of United’s trip to Arsenal in September 2023, Sancho told reporters that the coach had cited his poor training as the reason for his exclusion.
Following months of training with United’s youth teams, Sancho returned to Dortmund in January on loan until the end of the season.
On Tuesday evening, Sancho shared a photo on Instagram of himself celebrating, with the caption: “Champions League final!! Wow wow wow, unbelievable @BVB09. WEMBLEY HERE WE COME!”
Several star players congratulated Sancho, but only one of his Manchester United teammates commented on the post.
Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes responded with three clapping emojis, but none of his other teammates did the same.
Kobbie Mainoo, Lisandro Martinez, Antony, and Sofyan Amrabat all ‘liked’ the post but didn’t leave a comment.
Although Dortmund would like to keep Sancho beyond the season, they are unlikely to be able to afford to make the move permanent.
Sancho and Dortmund will face either Bayern Munich or Real Madrid in the Champions League final, which will be held at Wembley Stadium on June 1st.
