Juventus Eye Kiwior as Key January Signing After Bremer’s Long-Term Injury
Juventus are reportedly eyeing Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior as a top target for the upcoming January transfer window. According to Tuttosport, the Serie A giants are in search of reinforcements after a serious knee injury to their key center-back, Gleison Bremer, left them short of defensive options. Kiwior, a Polish international who has struggled for regular playing time at Arsenal, is seen as a perfect fit for Juventus’ plans.
The 23-year-old Kiwior was previously linked with a move to Italy during the summer, with several Serie A clubs, including Napoli, Bologna, Fiorentina, and Inter Milan, expressing interest. However, none were willing to meet Arsenal’s £17 million asking price, and the North London club opted to keep him for the season. Despite only featuring for 17 minutes in the Premier League this campaign, Juventus are set to reignite their pursuit of the versatile defender in January, making him one of their “main objectives.”
Gleison Bremer’s injury has intensified Juventus’ need for defensive reinforcements. The Brazilian defender, who has been a crucial figure in Juventus’ backline, is expected to be sidelined for an extended period, forcing the club to act swiftly in the market.
Kiwior’s past connection with Juventus manager Thiago Motta is another key factor driving the interest. The two worked together at Spezia, where Kiwior excelled as both a central defender and holding midfielder under Motta’s guidance. This partnership saw Kiwior develop into a rising star, eventually earning him a move to Arsenal in January 2023.
Despite Juventus’ interest, Arsenal are unlikely to sanction a loan move for Kiwior. The Gunners see him as a valuable squad member and are expected to demand a permanent transfer if Juventus make a serious bid. The North London club remains content with retaining the player, even if he continues to receive limited playing time under manager Mikel Arteta.
As January approaches, Juventus will likely face stiff competition for Kiwior’s signature, but Bremer’s injury may provide them with the extra push needed to seal the deal.
