Jurgen Klopp posts on Instagram again as Liverpool boss makes ‘strange’ admission
Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp setting up an Instagram account was probably pretty low down on the list of things you might have expected from 2024 before the year began.Â
At that point, the bombshell that the German was leaving had not yet been dropped.
With only one game left of his tenure, though, before he begins a new chapter of his life, Klopp has decided to take the social media plunge. With fans wanting to keep in touch, he explained earlier today that this was a good way of doing just that.
In his second post on the platform, Klopp filmed a video inside his office in Kirkby. “So here I am, last day in the office,” he said to the camera. “Last session done. It was kind of strange I would say. A few of the coaches got quite emotional. I didn’t get [emotional] yet.
“I told myself tomorrow is the game and after that is holiday… I decide what I think until I get overwhelmed tomorrow! So I will leave this place today which is… yeah an interesting experience I would say! Here are the boxes [camera pans to an empty and packed up office]. See you tomorrow!”
In his first post, Klopp said: “Dear Liverpudlians, we’re getting closer to the end. On 8 October 2015, we met for the first time properly. I would call it a love affair. The first day, it was an absolutely incredible, incredible time. I enjoyed it so much and I want to thank you so much for all the support you gave us over the years.
“All the power you gave us. I wanted always that it feels like we write the story together and that’s how it feels today,” he added. “Leaving this incredible place is hard, but I want to stay in contact with you. Even when I’m not a social media guy, people told me social media helps with that, so here we go. See you.”
