Haaland Responds to Manchester City Exit Rumors for Real Madrid or Barcelona

Erling Haaland has responded to speculation about his potential departure from Manchester City, which has sparked interest from clubs such as Real Madrid and Barcelona in the coming summer.

The Norwegian international, widely regarded as one of the world’s best strikers, has been in outstanding form this season, scoring 28 goals in 31 appearances for Manchester City.

Haaland is a key player for the Cityzens, and manager Pep Guardiola wants to keep him around for a while.

Erling Haaland is currently under contract with Manchester City until 2027, making any potential departure from the Etihad contingent on a substantial offer.

Despite his long-term commitment to Manchester City, rumours have circulated about a secret clause in Haaland’s contract that would allow Real Madrid to sign him for a significantly lower fee of €100 million (approximately £85 million).

While this possibility may be appealing to the Spanish giants, their primary goal for the upcoming summer transfer window is reportedly to sign Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe.

In a recent interview, Erling Haaland denied rumours that he is ‘unhappy’ at Manchester City. However, he did not rule out the possibility of eventually joining a club like Real Madrid.

“I’m really happy with the people I’m surrounded with: The manager, the directors, the board, they are a group of amazing people,” Haaland explained. “I am really happy, I have to say.

“If I say this now it will probably be a massive headline, but you never know what the future brings, but I am happy and that’s what I want to do.”

Man City are thought to be interested in signing Haaland to a new contract to put an end to the rumours about his departure, but Haaland has stated that he is not thinking about it right now.

“My focus is mainly on the pitch,” Haaland added.

“Two days ago was the Manchester derby and now it is the Champions League, and Sunday is Liverpool, so I think I should focus on that and nothing else at the moment.”
