A Chelsea player has joined the ranks of Jude Bellingham and Jamal Musiala, becoming one of the few to accomplish a rare feat this week.
While Chelsea’s first-team performances have been inconsistent, with a significant win against Southampton, the future of the club looks promising due to the exciting talent emerging from the academy.
In their 4-0 victory over Southampton, the Blues showcased a much-needed performance, with goals from Christopher Nkunku, Pedro Neto, Levi Colwill, and Marc Cucurella. Although Southampton were not a strong challenge, Chelsea desperately needed both a dominant win and a strong display, which they delivered just when it mattered most as they continue their pursuit of a Champions League spot.
Neto stood out as the number 9, scoring a goal and sharing his excitement about playing as a striker with a lighthearted response.
However, it’s not just the first team making waves. In Chelsea’s academy, new talents are beginning to shine, and one player is already turning heads.
Mahdi Nicoll-Jazuli Shines for England
Mahdi Nicoll-Jazuli, a 15-year-old Chelsea prodigy, made a notable appearance for England’s U16s this week. Despite his young age, he was part of the team that triumphed 7-3 against Denmark.
Nicoll-Jazuli impressed by scoring an outstanding goal, taking on two defenders before hammering the ball into the bottom corner.
Youth scout TheSecretScout was quick to praise the Chelsea youngster, noting: “Wow, Chelsea’s U15 Mahdi Nicoll-Jazuli with a superb finish playing for England U16s in the 7-3 win against Denmark. Playing a year up for England. It doesn’t happen often, with Jude Bellingham and Jamal Musiala being previous players to do so. Remember the name.”
