Bukayo Saka Confesses Only Arsenal Regret Amidst Stellar Form for the Gunners

Bukayo Saka has admitted that he is forcing himself to be patient while waiting for his first Arsenal hat-trick.

Saka has scored twice in Arsenal’s wins over West Ham and Burnley, igniting their title challenge.

His only senior hat-trick, however, came in England’s 7-0 victory over North Macedonia in the Euro 2024 qualifier at Old Trafford last June.

However, the winger is desperate to take home a matchball from an Arsenal game.

His impressive form has helped the Gunners score 21 goals in their last five games, as they prepare for Wednesday’s Champions League match against Porto.

Despite his team’s current success, Saka admits he is disappointed not to have scored a hat-trick. However, the England international has insisted on remaining patient, stating that he is confident it will come soon.

“I’m really pleased. I’m enjoying my football, but obviously I need to keep focused. But yeah, of course I’m happy to score two, two weeks in a row and hopefully the third one will come soon. It’s coming. It’s coming, but I need to be patient!” Saka said.

“It was a lot of fun out there. I really enjoyed it and it’s nice to see the fans coming up with new chants and stuff. I just loved it, so I enjoyed it. The boss has told us we’re the first Arsenal team to win five in a row at the start of the year.

“So it’s a nice achievement and we’ll definitely build momentum going forward. Definitely now that, not only that I’m playing well, the team’s playing well and we’re scoring a lot of goals.

“We’ve got some really important fixtures coming up, starting on Wednesday and I can’t wait to go there. I’m really excited. So yeah, looking forward to it and hopefully we can take this form into that game as well.”

In the run-up to the Burnley trip, it was reported that Arsenal had placed a high price on Saka’s head.

But manager Mikel Arteta has dismissed claims that speculation had an impact on a player he now regards as a key player.

“I have no clue, that’s a question for him, but I don’t think Bukayo needs much more motivation. We tried with our players to make them unpredictable and I’m sure the opponents are looking at us a lot, and we have to find ways to create them problems,” he said.

“He’s got this ability and he trains a lot in many different situations in and around the box. Today he had two brilliant finishes again. We already see him (as a senior player) especially.

“Forwards, wingers with a level of consistency and numbers (he has) is something really strange to find, but it’s not a coincidence, that’s for sure. When you look at him every single day, the way he trains, the way he applies himself, the qualities that he has, and he can do more.”
