Benjamin Sesko’s agent drops a huge hint over the striker’s Arsenal move ahead of the summer
The agent of Benjamin Sesko, a transfer target for Arsenal, has ignited excitement suggesting that the striker could be heading to the Emirates Stadium in the summer.
Sesko, 20, has emerged as a target for Premier League clubs after an impressive debut season in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig, where he has scored 15 goals. He has found the net in his last four games, further enhancing his reputation.
In addition to interest from Arsenal, Chelsea are also reportedly interested in the striker. Mauricio Pochettino’s side is in urgent need of a new striker for the upcoming season, especially after Christopher Nkunku’s debut season in England was marred by injury.
According to reports, the Slovenia international has a £43 million release clause in his contract at the Red Bull Arena, which will become active in the summer. Compared to the £100m+ transfer fees required to sign players like Ivan Toney or Victor Osimhen, Sesko could be seen as a bargain for Arsenal.
In recent weeks, Kai Havertz has assumed the role of center-forward within Mikel Arteta’s side. Since the 6-0 victory over West Ham, the £65 million signing has scored eight goals in 12 Premier League games and provided five assists.
However, a new striker is expected to be on Edu Gaspar’s transfer wishlist in the summer. Despite there being much left to play for on the pitch, transfer plans are already progressing off of it.
Sesko’s agent, Elvis Basanovic, recently shared a photo of himself at the Emirates Stadium. Basanovic, whose agency Pro Transfer represents Sesko, was spotted in the members-only lounge, The VW, during last week’s London derby victory over Chelsea.
Edu has already confirmed that the club has identified its targets for the summer transfer window.
Speaking to TNT Sports in February, he stated: “I understand why the fans are asking for [a No.9], but we already have our targets planned, we know what we’re going to face. I’d be worried if we weren’t scoring goals or creating chances, but we are doing that right now. The plan is to try to get better every year; we’re in a good moment right now, so it’s about improving step by step.”
