Arsenal and Manchester United Achieve Historic Milestone in English Football

Arsenal hosted yet another record crowd in the Women’s Super League during their 3-1 victory over Manchester United.

The Gunners continue to draw large crowds to the Emirates Stadium, which is a significant boost for the women’s game.

Last season, they drew 47,367 fans to their north London derby against Tottenham, and this figure increased in October.

Their season-opening defeat to Liverpool drew 54,115 fans, but that number increased on Saturday afternoon.

Arsenal defeated United in front of a record-breaking crowd of 60,160, which was close to the 60,704 capacity.

The result saw the Gunners reaffirm their title ambitions, despite remaining behind Chelsea and Manchester City.

Geyse’s own goal put the hosts ahead after ten minutes, and Cloe Lacasse doubled their advantage.

Kim Little’s penalty had all but sealed the victory by halftime, with the visitors scoring a consolation goal late on through Lucia Garcia.

Arsenal now has a seven-point lead over fourth-place United, with United’s chances of qualifying for the Champions League dwindling.

However, Jonas Eidevall’s side remains behind the leaders, with Chelsea and City having the same points and goal difference.

The latter won 1-0 on Friday night, but the Blues still lead in terms of goals scored.

Arsenal are the only title contenders to have exited the FA Cup, with Chelsea and City still vying for the league and cup double.

They have yet to win a Women’s Super League title since 2012, while Chelsea is aiming for a fourth consecutive trophy.

However, if Arsenal continues to draw such large crowds at home, they will undoubtedly be propelled to glory.
